In case you didn’t know: there was health care legislation included in the <em>ARRA Stimulus Bill</em> passed in 2009.</p>
<p>The <em>Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act</em> mandates the use of electronic health record (EHR) technology by <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Medicaid</span> and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Medicare</span> physicians. And the <em>Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)</em> has reimbursement penalties for those who don’t comply with the <strong>HITECH Act</strong> by 2015.</p>
<p><strong>What’s the difference between Electronic Health Records and Electronic Medical Records?</strong></p>
<p>They’re close. <a href="www.eecs.harvard.edu/cs199r/readings/RAND_benefits.pdf" target="_blank">Electronic medical records</a> is the computerized version of the paper medical charts you still see in many medical offices. An electronic health record (EHR) software system uses health information exchange (HIE) technology to integrate <a href="http://electronichealthrecordrescue.com/electronic-health-record-ehr/are-there-electronic-health-records-benefits-besides-the-ehr-incentive-program/" target="_blank">electronic medical records</a> from multiple health care providers. One of the goals of an electronic health record and the HITECH Act is for better coordination of care between health care providers.</p>
<p>That means that all the doctors caring for you, the patient, will know what the other has done. For instance, it will protect you from drug interaction problems when more than one doctor is writing prescriptions for you.</p>
<p>All this sounds great. But in reality, the age of your doctor seems to have a bearing on how effective the electronic medical records software is in providing the benefits to you r and/or your physician.</p>

There was a statistically significant contrast in attitudes among doctors over and under 50 years of age.  The Accenture study found that doctors under 50 are more likely to believe that healthcare IT has a positive impact across a wide range of perceived benefits, including improved health outcomes for patients, increased speed of access to health services and reductions in medical errors. More than 72 percent of doctors under 50 think EMR and HIE will improve care coordination across settings and service boundaries. And, 73 percent believe these technologies will offer better access to quality data for clinical research. These numbers vary, however, for doctors over 50—only 65 percent and 68 percent respectively perceive the same benefits.</p></blockquote>

<p>The electronic health record technology is the same regardless of who the physician is. As with all technology its success is heavily impacted by the people who use the technology. The older doctors may have more resistance to <strong>electronic medical records</strong> and electronic health records.</p>

The Republicans and Democrats in Congress are fighting over the jobs bill proposed by President Barack Obama. We in the United States are starting our <strong><span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 0);">4th of July</span></strong> holiday, also known as<strong><span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 0);"> Independence Day</span></strong>. And like any holiday, what is it all about? Since the <em><strong>Declaration of Independence</strong></em> was adopted on July 4, 1776, this holiday weekend, Americans are celebrating <a target="_blank" href="http://businessover50.com/are-you-in-favor-of-building-the-mosque-at-ground-zero/">freedom</a>. The Fourth of July is considered the birthday of the United States of America, so it&rsquo;s time to party, and picnic and play.<br />

<p>Using a very liberal definition, the antichrist is anyone who does not believe in Jesus being the Christ, the Messiah. Those who do not accept that salvation is through Jesus Christ are antichrists, or at least anti Christian. <strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong>What do Jews Think About Christmas?</strong></p>
<p>In this day and age of political correctness, we can no longer refer to Christmas trees, and Christmas parties – we might offend someone. But are Jews offended? Jesus was a Jew and a Jewish scholar at that. Since Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah, they are still waiting for one. So the Jewish tradition is to especially celebrate the birth of sons.</p>
<p>The Jewish Hanukkah is always near Christmas and is a gift giving holiday. Christmas is the Christian gift giving holiday. Have you ever met a Jewish person who was offended by the mention of the word “Christmas”?</p>
<p>In the old days, business people were glad to have Jewish employees. The Jews were the ones willing to work on Sundays and on Christian holidays. Money talks. Unemployment is high. With the economic crisis, i.e. recession, many so called Christians are willing to sacrifice the observance of the Christian Sabbath and Christian holidays like Christmas&#8230;</p>
<p>They are not passing up the opportunity to make money. Christmas is stressful when you’re unemployed and/or are struggling financially. After all, gifts cost money.</p>

<p><strong>What about the Muslims?</strong></p>
<p>You already know about the radical Islamic extremists. They are out to convert the world to Islam, by any means possible. Christians are considered to be infidels. So Muslims can be considered antichrist.</p>
<p>They are willing to do violence against Christians and anyone in nations they perceive to be Christian nations. Despite what President Barack Obama said, the United States was founded on Christian principles and is therefore considered a Christian nation.</p>
<p>The Black Muslims and other American born Muslims in the United States generally started out as Christians. These Americans have chosen to reject the Christianity and Christian beliefs.</p>
<p>But Muslims teach that Jesus is a prophet who did many miracles and is worthy of respect. And there is some evidence that the virgin birth is accepted as well. So based on this, Muslims are not antichrists.</p>
<p>There have been books and articles about “the intolerant Christ”. But Islam tends to be the intolerant religion. They do object Christmas traditions and to people saying Christmas tree or Christmas parties. They have however been known to show up at Christmas dinner and eat Christmas cookies…All the while, protesting about the word Christmas.</p>
