The United States is in trouble – economically and one could argue politically as well. The U.S. Congress is a wonderful legislative system, in theory. But. politics has become a dirty word. The political news would suggest that the system has gone awry. Regardless of political party, both Republicans and Democrats seem to be more focused on business of politics and being re-elected than they are on the best of doing what’s best for the country. Now the political campaigns are underway. Incumbent candidates are trying to convince the American people that the public’s interests and needs and wants have been served. And of course, that they will do better next time.
A Sustainable Future?
I love my country. Despite the negative political news, the United States government has lots of pluses. I want myself and all other Americans to survive and thrive. What’ the best way of having a sustainable future for the United States? Recycle!
Consider the idea of replacing them all and starting fresh.
The other day I needed to go to the emergency room. Not wanting to sit idle for four hours, I put on my old Army fatigues and stuck a patch onto the front of my shirt that I’d downloaded from the Internet. When I went into the E.R. I noticed that three quarters of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren’t that sick after all. Cut at least three hours off my waiting time. Here’s the patch. Feel free to use it next time you’re in need of faster emergency service.
Drivers License?
It also works at DMV. It saved me five hours.
Quick Wash?
At the Laundromat, three minutes after entering, I had my choice of any machine, most still running.
How About McDonald’s?
Don’t try it at McDonald’s though.
The whole crew left and l never got my order.
OK, this is a joke…Not Political?
But,
Superman had his kryptonite.
Illegal immigrants have the US Border Control.
Perhaps the use of Border Control badges is an alternative to the U.S. federal and Arizona’s illegal immigration laws…

It’s pronounced “Web two dot oh“. And, it seems I’m on track in exploring this Web 2.0 stuff. Web 2.0 is impacting the government as well as the presidential campaign. Many feel that embracing this new technology paradigm is one of the keys to the success of Barack Obama’s campaign. I think it was part of his strategy to implement and use Web 2.0 for competitive advantage.
As I mentioned in a prior article, all are impacted by this new internet / technology revolution. It may be directly by you accessing blogs, joining online social networks or accepting networking connection invitations. It may be indirect by your children or grandchildren helping you to do google and yahoo searches and researches. Or it could just be a societal impact. Whether you like it or not, those who embrace Web 2.0 and other internet features are affecting the way we run our businesses, purchase goods and services, donate money and run political campaigns.
A recent title in the Government Technology hnewletter was “E-Vote: Tapscott Says Web 2.0 Will Determine Presidential Campaign Advantage”. And who is Tapscott? Don Tapscott is author of Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything (Portfolio 2006). In my “What’s a Wiki” article on February 10th, I tried to put mind energy around the concept of a Wiki. Suffice it to say, a Wiki is one of those Web 2.0 things. Tapscott’s “Wikinomics” terms suggests that there is an economic impact to the use of Wiki’s.
Watch out for Wiki’s and Web 2.0. WWW – It’s what’s happening now!
