Physicians who participate in Medicare and/or Medicaid are implementing or planning to implement electronic medical records (EMR), because 2015 is coming. In case you didn’t know: there was health care legislation included in the ARRA Stimulus Bill passed in 2009.
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act mandates the use of electronic health record (EHR) technology by Medicaid and Medicare physicians. And the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has reimbursement penalties for those who don’t comply with the HITECH Act by 2015.
What’s the difference between Electronic Health Records and Electronic Medical Records?
They’re close. Electronic medical records is the computerized version of the paper medical charts you still see in many medical offices. An electronic health record (EHR) software system uses health information exchange (HIE) technology to integrate electronic medical records from multiple health care providers. One of the goals of an electronic health record and the HITECH Act is for better coordination of care between health care providers.
That means that all the doctors caring for you, the patient, will know what the other has done. For instance, it will protect you from drug interaction problems when more than one doctor is writing prescriptions for you.
All this sounds great. But in reality, the age of your doctor seems to have a bearing on how effective the electronic medical records software is in providing the benefits to you r and/or your physician.
Physicians age differences after electronic medical records Installed
Age Divide
There was a statistically significant contrast in attitudes among doctors over and under 50 years of age. The Accenture study found that doctors under 50 are more likely to believe that healthcare IT has a positive impact across a wide range of perceived benefits, including improved health outcomes for patients, increased speed of access to health services and reductions in medical errors. More than 72 percent of doctors under 50 think EMR and HIE will improve care coordination across settings and service boundaries. And, 73 percent believe these technologies will offer better access to quality data for clinical research. These numbers vary, however, for doctors over 50—only 65 percent and 68 percent respectively perceive the same benefits.
The electronic health record technology is the same regardless of who the physician is. As with all technology its success is heavily impacted by the people who use the technology. The older doctors may have more resistance to electronic medical records and electronic health records.
We need to show more sympathy for these people.
* They travel miles in the heat.
* They risk their lives crossing a border.
* They don’t get paid enough wages.
* They do jobs that others won’t do or are afraid to do.
* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a
different language.
* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day
every day..
I’m not talking about illegal Mexicans
I’m talking about our troops!
Doesn’t it seem strange that so many are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don’t support our troops?
Wouldn’t it be great if we took the $360,000,000,000 (that’s billion) we spend on illegals every year, and spend it on our troops!!!
A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a
blank check made payable to‘ The United States of America ’ for any amount, up to and including their life.
The problem of illegal immigrants in the United States has taken a back burner to the need for jobs and the faltering US economy. The Republicans and Democrats in Congress are fighting over the jobs bill proposed by President Barack Obama. The Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Atlanta, Occupy Oakland and the spreading Occupy XX movements are protesting corporate greed and the lack of jobs.
The Arizona immigration law as well as laws in other states and the federal government, attempt to address the illegal immigration problem in the United States. We’ve spent billions on stopping the influx of illegal immigrants, finding them, legislating them and supporting them with social benefits.
Americans should make it a priority to support our troops. As our troops leave Iraq and as Veteran Day nears, let’s remember the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice – their lives.
Pray for and
Support The Troops!
and their families who have made sacrifices as well.

No NURSING HOME FOR me!!! I’ll be checking into a Holiday Inn?With the average cost for a nursing home care costing $188.00 per day, there is a better way when we get old, and too feeble.
I’ve already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn.
For a combined long term stay discount and senior discount, it’s $59.23 per night. Breakfast is included, and some have happy hours in the afternoon.
That leaves $128.77 a day for lunch and dinner in any restaurant I want, or room service, laundry, gratuities and special TV movies.
Plus, they provide a spa, swimming pool, a workout room, a lounge and washer-dryer, etc. Most have free toothpaste and razors, and all have free shampoo and soap.
$5 worth of tips a day you’ll have the entire staff scrambling to help you.
And, they will treat you like a customer, not as a patient.
There’s a city bus stop right out front, and seniors ride free.
The handicap bus will also pick you up, if you can fake a decent limp).
To meet other nice people your age, call a church bus on Sundays. For a change of scenery, take the airport shuttle bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there.
While you’re at the airport, fly somewhere. Otherwise, the cash keeps building up.
It takes months to get into decent nursing homes, but any Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you’re not stuck in one place forever — you can move from one Holiday Inn to another, or even from city to city.
Want to live in Hawaii? They have Holiday Inns there too.
TV broken? Light bulbs need changing? Out of clean towels? Need a mattress replaced? No problem.. Just call the front desk, they’ll fix everything, at no charge to you, and apologize for the inconvenience.
The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks everyday to see if you are ok. If not, they’ll call an ambulance for you, ……. or the undertaker, which ever the case might be.
If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite, free, for the rest of your life, if you promise not to sue them for the fall.
And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to come and visit you, since you live in a hotel, and they’ll probably check in for a few days for a mini-vacation!
The grandkids can use the pool, all they want, FREE!
We in the United States are starting our 4th of July holiday, also known as Independence Day. And like any holiday, what is it all about? Since the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, this holiday weekend, Americans are celebrating freedom. The Fourth of July is considered the birthday of the United States of America, so it’s time to party, and picnic and play.
there’s a talk radio station that has a segment called “Free Your Mind Friday”. It’s especially pertinent today as we go into the American freedom celebrating holiday. But free your mind is actually more to the point. As individuals we can be free my mastering ourselves. It was an incredible demonstration and victory for Nelson Mandela to emerge from years of imprisonment in his right mind and without bitterness. Mastering oneself is true freedom.
“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
Nelson Mandela
Arizona’s illegal immigration law continues to be in dispute. Utah’s immigration bill is being challenged. Georgia’s law to combat illegal immigration was to go into effect July 1. But due to protests by the illegal immigrants themselves and discrimination cries from other protestors, Georgia’s law has been put on hold.
Why shouldn’t we be protesting our borders and enforcing our laws? TheUS federal government is not doing it’s job. The federal immigration laws should be enforced. If you cross the border into other countries, they are judicious about enforcing their immigration laws.
Ain’t this a great country.
LET’S SEE IF I GOT THISCORRECT?

Easter is the Christian holiday celebrating Jesus’s resurrection from the dead. It is a celebration of victory over death.
If you’ve got erectile dysfunction or E.D., you can probably relate. Is your penis dead? Is it failing you? Are you and your partner hoping for a resurrection, good hard erection?
There is Hope!
Is it sacrilegious to mention Jesus Christ and sexual functions in the same article? Jesus said “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Sexual appetite and desires come from God. You’re supposed to enjoy your sexuality. One of the definitions of erectile dysfunction is the inability to maintain an erection sufficient for satisfying sexual activity. Adequate sexual performance is important to your health and well being.
Have you taken Personal Resurrection Drugs?
Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are drugs to treat impotence and erectile dysfunction. Many of you, like me, are bombarded with spam emails about erectial dysfunction remedies. You can buy Viagra online, or buy cialis online or buy levitra online. And these drugs work. But you have to worry about adverse reactions and side effects of drugs. Is it worth it? Listen to one man’s testimony
Well there’s herbal Viagra – Not sure how natural that is. And you don’t want a drug anyway. Our bodies are amazing creations. Give them proper nutrition and the body knows how to be healthy and to heal itself. Superfoods, like Natraburst, provide the nutrition needed for effective healing.
Some have found relief from impotence, E.D. and erectile dysfunction. Good Friday really wasn’t good. It was the day Jesus died. Do you remember when your penis / erection died. There is hope for life after death. You can rise again!

Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Christian belief is that Jesus was immaculately conceived (without benefit of sexual intercourse between Mary and Joseph) and born to a virgin. Jesus is therefore the one and only Son of God.
Not only that, but the Christians believe that Jesus was and is the promised Messiah. Jesus endured life as a human being in order to save mankind and women kind from their sins. He is the savior.
What’s an Antichrist?
Using a very liberal definition, the antichrist is anyone who does not believe in Jesus being the Christ, the Messiah. Those who do not accept that salvation is through Jesus Christ are antichrists, or at least anti Christian.
What do Jews Think About Christmas?
In this day and age of political correctness, we can no longer refer to Christmas trees, and Christmas parties – we might offend someone. But are Jews offended? Jesus was a Jew and a Jewish scholar at that. Since Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah, they are still waiting for one. So the Jewish tradition is to especially celebrate the birth of sons.
The Jewish Hanukkah is always near Christmas and is a gift giving holiday. Christmas is the Christian gift giving holiday. Have you ever met a Jewish person who was offended by the mention of the word “Christmas”?
In the old days, business people were glad to have Jewish employees. The Jews were the ones willing to work on Sundays and on Christian holidays. Money talks. Unemployment is high. With the economic crisis, i.e. recession, many so called Christians are willing to sacrifice the observance of the Christian Sabbath and Christian holidays like Christmas…
They are not passing up the opportunity to make money. Christmas is stressful when you’re unemployed and/or are struggling financially. After all, gifts cost money.
What about the Muslims?
You already know about the radical Islamic extremists. They are out to convert the world to Islam, by any means possible. Christians are considered to be infidels. So Muslims can be considered antichrist.
They are willing to do violence against Christians and anyone in nations they perceive to be Christian nations. Despite what President Barack Obama said, the United States was founded on Christian principles and is therefore considered a Christian nation.
The Black Muslims and other American born Muslims in the United States generally started out as Christians. These Americans have chosen to reject the Christianity and Christian beliefs.
But Muslims teach that Jesus is a prophet who did many miracles and is worthy of respect. And there is some evidence that the virgin birth is accepted as well. So based on this, Muslims are not antichrists.
There have been books and articles about “the intolerant Christ”. But Islam tends to be the intolerant religion. They do object Christmas traditions and to people saying Christmas tree or Christmas parties. They have however been known to show up at Christmas dinner and eat Christmas cookies…All the while, protesting about the word Christmas.
Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah!
And for the antichrists: Happy Holidays!
P.S. If you like getting gifts, regardless of your religious conviction…
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the controversy about the proposed New York City mosque at the site of the world trade center. There is a debate about what constitutes the ground zero area around the site of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. But how close is too close to the World Trade Center for a Muslim mosque?
What about the Koran burning threats?
I’m sure you‘ve heard about that fool (is this too strong?) pastor who wanted to burn Qurans in protest about the building of the mosque. Christians may feel they are under assault. But burning books is a bit much. This is something the Nazi’s did in 1933… but it’s not something we do in the United States. South Africa blocked Muslim activist from holding a Bible burning day in protest against the proposed Quran burning. In the U.S., we endorse the freedom to practice religion. And we give people the freedom to do stupid things like burning books – whether the Bible, the Quran or a non-religious book.
Perhaps this misguided religious leader had the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join “em” mentality. Like the Nazi’s, radical Islamics are intolerant of any beliefs and thoughts not in accordance with the Koran or Sharia Law. German Jewish poet Heinrich Heine wrote: “Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people.” I guess I’m starting to understand this pastor, who has already gotten way too much publicity. Most Christians believe that unbelievers will burn in hell, so burning books is a precursor to what this religious zealot believes will eventually happen to the Moslems.
Are the Muslims taking over?
Muslims tend to not assimilate into the culture of the countries that they immigrate into. The Quran encourages the spread of Sharia Law and Muslim customs and practices. Did you see the shocking headline: “New Jersey Judge Rules Islamic Sharia Law Trumps U.S. Law”? Judges are interpret the federal, state and local laws in this country. Sharia law as explained in the Quran should not be part of the U. S. judicial equation.
Is Barack Obama Muslim?
Of course not. He is a Christian. And if you’re wondering what nationality is Barack Obama, he is a U.S. citizen – to address another controversy. American citizens, whether religious or not, and whether Christian or not, are conflicted over whether the mosques should be built. President Obama weighed in on the issue. Our president is for freedom – freedom of actions. President Barack Obama is not promoting Islam nor the jihadist agenda. Family members of the 9/11 victims have formed a group called September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows. You may be surprised to know the 9/11 family members support the mosque or at least the right of Moslems to build the mosque.
What are the Muslim motives?
So the question is: Why do they want to build a Moslem center so close to the site of the world trade center attack? I wish I was a mind reader to figure out what is in the minds and hearts of those Muslims who want to build the mosque at ground zero. There are concerns about the ties to Al Quaeda. And of course it would be enlightening to follow the money trail. Are terrorist and subversives financially backing this Muslim center?
What’s the African Perspective?
In 1992 I visited four nations in West Africa: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin. One thing that struck me was how spiritual the Africans were and how in tune they were to nature. Although they may embrace Christianity or other religions, they don’t abandon their naturalistic beliefs. Africans were resourceful. They learned to make use of plants and trees in their environment for building homes and curing diseases. George Washington Carver, who was of black African descent, invented many things. And what was his secret? He tapped into the wisdom of God, the maker of all things. According to George Washington Carver http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/george_washington_carver.html: “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.”
George Washington Carver
American Indian Tribes
The American Indians are another group that embraced and honored the earth. The president of the Sioux Tribe is organizing a meeting of the National Congress of American Indians to discuss BP’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill and its impact. Perhaps they will come up with an enlightened spiritual way to clean up the oil spill or otherwise deal with the environmental crisis the spill has caused. Based on the American Indian traditions, I’m sure they will incorporate tribal wisdom.
Tribal Wisdom of Elders
In tribal cultures the elders are honored. Even if the elder has passed on, homage is still paid. They recognize the wisdom that comes from going to sleep and getting up many days. As the old saying goes “stuff happens”. So the longer we’ve been here on this earth, the more stuff we’ve walked thru and survived. Hopefully us over 50 senior folk have learned from our mistakes. The British Petroleum’s current wisdom is to use the same techniques that were unsuccessful with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill back in the 70s.
Clean Up Oil Spill
We’re all one tribe, one race – the human race. And there is one earth. So, when it comes to environmental issues, we’re all in this together. Perhaps we need to convene a tribe of seniors from all cultures to weigh in on the oil spill clean up.
